Brasilien: Fußball bewegt die Menschen und schenkt Straßenkindern Lebenssinn

Einmal Profi-Fußballer: Im Nationaltrikot in die Arena einlaufen, tausende Menschen jubeln, die Nationalhymne wird gespielt. Man steht im Mittelpunkt, ist der gefeierte Star. – Erfolg, Ruhm, Geld und das Ende aller Sorgen.

Fast jeder brasilianische Junge träumt diesen Traum. Nur nicht Paulo.

Paulo würde lieber Bäcker werden, arbeiten und für sich und seine Mutter sorgen. Paulo hat oft auf der Straße gelebt, sich durch Betteln und Gelegenheitsarbeiten durchgeschlagen. Kontakt zu seiner Mutter hatte er kaum noch. Nur mit seinen Kumpels war er täglich zusammen.

Trotzdem hat Fußball das Leben von Paulo auf den Kopf gestellt. Denn über Fußball kam er in Kontakt zu den Sozialarbeitern von „Serviçio de Promoção de Menor SERVIR“. Sie gaben ihm nicht nur klare Regeln, sondern auch etwas zu essen und die Chance, den Beruf des Bäckers zu erlernen. Damit hat Paulo jetzt die Perspektive für ein besseres Leben, mit einem richtigen Beruf und der Möglichkeit, seinen Lebensunterhalt selbst zu verdienen.
